Alan Cook began playing in bands in Manchester in the 1970's. After beginning to play Lap Steel Alan progressed to pedal steel guitar which became his main instrument.

He plays regularly with Michael Weston King (ex Good Sons) and Quiet Loner. He also plays with Lisa Redford and with Gabriel Minnikin ( formerly of Canadian band The Guthries). His session work has included albums by The Good Sons, Jackie Leven, demo's for The Charlatans for their Wonderland album and a single for Adam Masterton. His live work has included tours of the USA and Europe with The Good Sons and their frontman Michael Weston King. On the live stage Alan has also played with many major artists including the legendary Chris Hillman of the Byrds, Flying Burritto Brothers and Mannassas and Desert Rose Band.
